Create an Organized Family calendar in 3 Easy steps!!!

When you are the one to manage all the schedules, activities, play dates, practices, and appointments of a busy home - you HAVE to have a system that keeps it all organized! And even though life can get crazy-busy at a moments notice, here are 3 steps to help you Create an Organized Family Calendar so that it all can still get done!

As a mom to five kids, I totally understand how hectic it can get - especially as kids are getting older and begin to participate in different activities.

And the last thing you want to do is forget to get someone where they need to be or show up late for an important appointment.

We went for years without a "Family Calendar" but with anywhere from 3 to 5 kids having something going on, it became very apparent that a "Family Calendar", visible 24/7, was exactly what we needed, and you may just want to make yours too!!

Here are the 3 things you need to do to get your Family Calendar created, and on the wall!!

1. Buy or Print yourself a Calendar.

We chose to go with a Large Wall Calendar (there is 7 of us!) that would leave plenty of space for me to write in all the things!!

A Large wall calendar is a great option so that you and your family can easily see what's on the schedule each day.

If you don't have the wall space or aren't in love with the idea of hanging a giant wall calendar, just print yourself a simple, blank monthly calendar!

Once you have your calendar figured out, you can move on to step two!!

    2. Get a Multi-Colored Pen Set

    This is key right here.

You are going to assign every person in your family a different color for their various activities or schedules.

That way when you begin to write in an activity, appointment, or meeting you'll be able to quickly see who it is for.

These are similar to the ones I love to use!!

*We also have assigned a color for just the general family schedule (black). Plus, a color for all of the kids combined for items that involve all the kiddos, such as no school (orange).

Once you have both your calendar and multi-colored pen set, it's time to move on to step three!!

    3. Write in all the things on your calendar!

Take some time to write in everything that you can think of that is coming up in the near future.

Be sure to use the various colors for each member of your family!

Once you have your initial calendar set up, hang that thing up on the wall!! You are going to want to keep it visible for not only yourself but everyone else in your home.

From here on out you'll either want to write new activities or changes to your schedule right away or choose a day of the week when you update your Organized Family Calendar!

It's only three easy steps to an organized family calendar: get a calendar, get various colored pens, and write in all the things. But the feeling of having all those activities, appointments, meetings, and your general schedule all organized will feel awesome!!
